10/9/19 - Repairs on Leitner Dr. have been completed. 

9/17/19 - The problem on Leitner Drive is a storm water drainage issue and is more extensive than originally thought. This section of the road may be closed for up to two weeks as repairs are made.  Please use caution when driving through this area and we appreciate your patience as we make the repairs.  Thank you. 


9/16/19 One lane of Leitner Drive from the Vitamin Shop to the top of the hill by the hotel will be closed for emergency road repairs.  Please use caution in this area. No time provided for how long this repair may take. 


9/10/19  Oakley Ave. will be closed on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for paving.  Please use caution when driving in this area. 


8/27/19 Johnston Drive will have one lane closed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from Main St. to Meyer Lane.  Please use caution when driving through this area. 

On Thursday, August 29, 2019, Johnston Drive will be closed for paving from Main St. to Meyer Lane from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Detour signs will be posted directing traffic to use Dover St.   Thank you. 


1/15/19 -  Paving is currently underway on Park Crossing in front of the John's Towne community.  Please use caution when driving through this area and expect delays.  Thank you.


1/8/19 - Crews began constructing a turn lane on Industrial Dr. from N. Polk St. to the RR tracks.  Please use caution and expect delays in this area.  Project should take about two weeks, weather permitting. Thank you. 


12/12/18 - Crews will be paving in Carolina Village today and tomorrow near Hidden Rock Rd. and Green Birch Dr.  Please use caution when traveling through this area.  Thank you. 

10/30/31- In the Hidden Rock Road area of Carolina Village, crews will be working for the next couple of weeks (weather permitting) on up-sizing sewer lines in that area.  Please use caution in this area.  Thank you for your patience.


Road paving will be taking place in a couple of different areas in town:

10/4/18 -- Lakeview Drive/Park Avenue - equipment to be brought in today, 10/4, in preparation for milling to take place Monday Oct. 8th and Tues. Oct. 9th. Paving will follow on Wed., Oct. 10th and continue through until Monday, October 15th weather permitting.  Please exercise caution and patience as crews work to complete the job as quickly as possible.

10/5/18 UPDATE:   Cars that are normally parked on Park Ave. will be permitted to park on Cone Ave. during the paving project. 

10/8/18 UPDATE: Paving crews on Park Ave. have accidentally hit a water line today at approximately 2:30 p.m. Charlotte Water is working on a repair to get service restored as soon as possible.  Repair is expected to take 2 to 4 hours and will affect Lakeview Dr. We apologize for the inconvenience. 

10/9/18 - A portion of cone Ave will be closed for most of the day today -- from the intersection of Cone and Dover to Park Avenue will be closed. Motorists traveling through this area can use James Street as an alternate route to get back on to Cone/Dover St. Please use caution and check back for more updates. Thank you. 

10/10/18 UPDATE - Weather permitting, paving will resume on Lakeview Dr. and Park Ave. on Friday, October 12th.  Proof roll Park Ave. on Friday and chip seal both roads on Friday. On Saturday, October 13th, driveway aprons will be installed on Park Ave. and sewer lids replaced on both roads. On Monday, October 15th both roads will be paved.  Please check back for additional updates.  Thank you.

10/4/18 - Additional paving will take place on Dover St. with Dover being closed all day on Friday, 10/5/18, for milling and all day on M/T of the following week (10/8 & 10/9). Dover St. will be closed from NC51 to Lyndon Lane.  Signs should be posted on NC51 for detours through Meyer Lane. Please use caution and patience.

10/5/18 UPDATE:  Crews on Dover St. have finished their work for today and opened the street back up.  However, they will have to complete their work tomorrow so Dover St. will be closed on Saturday, October 6th from 8:00 a.m. until mid-afternoon sometime.  Thank you.
