12/11/17 - 12/14/17 ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE: The work conducted this past week (12/4-12/8) was not quite completed on Dover Street due to some unexpected issues discovered once digging began.  An engineer was called in to resolve the issue and there is now a plan in place to fix it but that means that Dover Street will continue to be closed in front of Town Hall to the end of Dover St. where it meets Cone Ave.  The parking lot on the corner of Dover and Main Streets will be accessible, ...

The Tribute to Veterans normally held at the Pineville United Methodist Church will be held at the HUT Meeting Facility this year.  The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  The Hut is located at 413 Johnston Drive in Pineville.

This year's FALLFEST is on October 20th and 21st.  That banners that fly over Main Street and over S. Polk St. are used every year to let residents and visitors know when FALLFEST is.  It's the same banner but the dates are changed each year using vinyl numbers with an adhesive backing so they stick to the banner.  Sometimes the wind is so strong that it blows the correct numbers off the banners exposing the dates from the previous year. We are honored and pleased to announce that the recently reconstructed bridge over Little Sugar Creek has just been named in honor of fallen fire fighter, Richard Sheltra. Sheltra, as you recall, was just 20 years old when he lost his life fighting a fire that broke out at the Edwin Watts golf store in April, 2016.  This is a great honor and we thank the efforts of Rep. Charlotte Water has informed the town that repair work on a water line will be taking place this weekend.   Lane closures are expected on Saturday, October 7th from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM as Charlotte Water works to repair a water main in the 8500-8600 Block of NC 51 and Blue Heron Rd.   PLEASE exercise caution and patience in this area.

PINEVILLE Neighbors Place is planning it's second annual Potato Drop in the old police building parking lot located at the corner of Main and Church Streets on Saturday, October 28, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m.  About 40,000 pounds of potatoes are being delivered and volunteers are needed to help bag the potatoes.   This is a great way to have the community come together and help out the hungry.  For more information and to sign up, please click HERE.
