Get Moving With

Pineville Parks &

Think of fall as the start of a new year. Rather than waiting until January 1st to set goals and make fitness and health promises, why not start now? Create healthy habits now, and you will be looking and feeling great when the hectic holiday and winter season arrives.

Pineville Parks and Recreation offers
citizens endless opportunities to achieve your fitness and wellness goals at our indoor/outdoor walking tracks, playgrounds, gym, fitness classes, athletic fields, and more. For more information on our health and fitness opportunities check out our website or call 704-889-2400.

PPR Health Tip:

Take some time to yourself. Autumn and winter are the Earth’s way of telling us to slow down. Start a journal or track your moods to get more in touch with how your feeling. Boost your immune system. You can do this by drinking plenty of water, washing your hands often to prevent sickness, and eating nutritious foods. Stay active! It can be easy to just sit around all the time, but it’s important to get in some movement throughout the day. Raking leaves counts!

Attention Pineville Residents:  If you live within the city limits of Pineville and pay your taxes to Pineville, then you may use the Belle Johnston Community Center for FREE (fitness equipment, track, basketball court, and racquetball court).  But first you need to get your resident card made.  We will need proof of residency in the form of a photo ID with current address and a recent bill (ex. gas, electric, telephone.)

At press time basketball is not allowed because it is considered a contact sport. The indoor walking track and weight room are open. Check website You can also find us on Facebook (Pineville Parks and Recreation) and Instagram (pinevilleparknrec) for updates, dates, and times.

Come in and check out our updated weight room!

Bootcamp with Lia

Participants bring their own weights and mats, no requirement on how heavy weights are. It can be whatever weight participants are comfortable with using for an hour.

I am a native Charlottean and working in sales before becoming a personal trainer two years ago. When I’m not training clients, I’m at home running around with my almost 2 year old Asher and my dog Stella. I’m also training to become a certified labor doula, to help women in other facets of health and wellness when I’m not training. When I’m not having fun with clients, I can be found binge watching some of my favorite shows, including Wentworth and Grey’s Anatomy, among others. I also love to curl up with a good book. When I’m not reading or having a binge-a-thon, I love all things crafts and love to crochet when I have the time. I also love to cook and bake, and have tried a few international delights, like macarons and made from scratch croissants. I love all things health and fitness and look forward to meeting you for a nice workout.
