Get Moving with

Pineville Parks & Recreation

The holiday season is a time to celebrate and spend time with friends and family. For many of us, though, it often also becomes a time of worry about keeping up with our health and wellness plan. But the truth is that you can celebrate the holiday season and still focus on staying well. The foods you eat, how active you are, and how you manage your stress determine how your mind and body feels. What you can control is fueling your body with nutritious choices, sweating a little each day, setting aside some extra time to unwind and relax, and having self-love for the person you are. If you do these things it’s going to be very hard to feel like you failed this holiday season.

Pineville Parks and Recreation offers citizens endless opportunities to achieve your fitness and wellness goals at our indoor/outdoor walking tracks, playgrounds, gym, racquetball court, fitness classes, athletic fields, and more. For more information on our health and fitness opportunities check out our website:  www.townofpineville.gov    or call 704-889-2400.

PPR Health Tip: At its core, the holiday season is intended to be a time of celebration, generosity, and gratitude. So make a promise to yourself to enjoy every moment, slow down and take time for yourself, and to do the best you can with each day given. You will find that by focusing on the positive ways to stay accountable, you will have a different view on aspects of the holiday season you once perceived as challenges!

Discover the Arts through

Pineville Parks and Recreation

ABRAKADOODLE

Join Abrakadoodle – Remarkable Art Education and Travel the World We'll travel the world to find interesting, creative art forms. Our view of the world takes us to ancient Egypt to create an Egyptian mummy and to France to study the artistic style of Pierre Bonnard who creates a warm and tranquil view of the countryside looking out windows. Then we are off to the high seas to create waves and ocean waters in the style of Winslow Homer. We learn about a Portuguese artist's musical inspiration for her abstract art. We have some whimsical fun hearing a poem about a woman who swallowed a fly as we create flies and other 3-D art forms.

FOUR WEDDINGS AND AN ELVIS CAST READING
WOW-this is going to be a great show! I finally picked the cast members for this play. Auditions went wonderful – had so many talented actors come out. My job is getting tougher, since the Pineville Players are becoming more popular, more people want to be a part of it, that’s a good problem to have!
