Get Moving with

Pineville Parks & Recreation

July has arrived, and it’s time to start enjoying the summer! Summertime is a great time to start healthy habits that can last all year, such as cutting back on high-fat meats and mayo-drenched salads, adding healthy grains to your diet instead of chips and cookies, and drinking lots of water. It’s also a great time to take advantage of longer days and start an exercise plan. Talk to your doctor about what exercise program is right for you.

Pineville Parks and Recreation offers citizens endless opportunities to achieve your fitness and wellness goals at our indoor/outdoor walking tracks, playgrounds, gym, racquetball court, fitness classes, athletic fields, and more. For more information on our health and fitness opportunities check out our website:    or call 704-889-2400.

PPR Health Tip:  Give Your Diet a Berry Boost - If you do one thing this summer to improve your diet, have a cup of mixed fresh berries -- blackberries, blueberries, or strawberries -- every day. They'll help you load up on antioxidants, which may help prevent damage to tissues and reduce the risks of age-related illnesses. Blueberries and blackberries are especially antioxidant-rich.
