Beginning Friday, May 8, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., North Carolina will start to slowly transition out of the Stay at Home Order issued by Governor Cooper. This is considered Phase I of a multi-step process to ease back into normalcy at a carefully controlled pace. Not everything is eligible to open back up at this time and the attached CHART will give a better explanation of the businesses/goods/services that will be allowed to operate under Phase I.
It is still necessary to follow CDC guidelines during this time. That means everyone MUST continue to practice social distancing by staying at least six (6) feet away from any other individual, wear a mask whenever possible when out in public, and wash your hands frequently. Older people and populations with underlying health issues should continue to stay at home. The community is still seeing new cases of COVID-19 and the peak is not expected to occur until mid-June so we are not totally in the clear; we are in recovery and recovery takes time so please continue to abide by the recommendations so that we get cleared to move to the next phase. Another post will be made when we are ready to move to Phase II. Thank you.
