New to Pineville

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m new to Pineville. How do I establish services?

A: Welcome! Pineville offers a variety of communication services including telephone, internet, IPTV (cable) services as well as electric service to most homes. You may call Pineville Communications at (704) 889-2001 or Pineville Electric (704) 889-2292. Both are located at 118 College Street next to the Pineville Post Office.

Pineville does not have its own water department so you will need to contact Charlotte Water (formerly CMUD) at (704) 336-7600 to set up an account. Areas outside the town limits with a Pineville address likely have water service through Carolina Water at (704) 525-7990 .

Q: What about trash services?

A: If you live within the town limits, you may call Waste Pro directly at (980) 255-3800 to start your service or Town Hall at (704) 889-2291 and we will arrange to have services started for you. Each resident should have one rollout container for trash and one rollout recycling cart. Some residents may have a Pineville address but are not technically within the town limits but part of unincorporated Mecklenburg County. You will need to contact a waste provider of your choice to contract separately with them for trash services. Additional information regarding trash service and the current pick-up schedule is also available here.

Q: What schools are in the area?

A: The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System offers Pineville Elementary for grades K-5, Quail Hollow for grades 6-8, and South Mecklenburg for grades 9-12. Additional options may be available through the School Choice Program. Contact Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System at (704) 343-6220 for details.

A: In addition to cash, check and money orders, we now accept Visa and MasterCard in person or over the phone to pay your phone bill, electric bill or both! And you now have the option of paying your bill(s) online right here on our website.
